We take Health and Safety very seriously and we expect our learners/candidates to take it seriously also. To this end, our health & safety support page provides essential and useful information and resources, not just in support of your programme but in increasing your knowledge and understanding in this most important of subjects anyway.

Career Consultancy

Experience indicates that organisations are increasingly restructuring and rationalising more frequently than ever before. It is inevitable that we as individuals are also affected. We therefore need to maximise the skills we have and possibly acquire new ones in order to ensure our career transitions are as painless as possible. Tomorrow's successes will reflect how well we embrace and adapt to change.

We deliver a professional career counselling and consultancy using specialist knowledge combined with considerable experience. Our clients' key decisions are, as a result, made in a more informed manner.

Continuous Professional Development

According to our friends at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and development, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) should be:

  • continuous - professionals should always be looking for ways to improve performance
  • the responsibility of you learner to own and manage
  • driven by the learning needs and development of you
  • evaluative rather than descriptive of what has taken place
  • an essential component of professional and personal life, never an optional extra!

Our process for CPD consists of our individual clients completing the following:

SWOT or PESTLE Analysis These tools are intended to help you carry out some initial thinking about your strengths and weaknesses. In addition, you will need to think about possible directions for your career development and to highlight potential threats.
Development Plan

Development of your plan is based upon your SWOT or PEsTLE Analysis. Its purpose is to assist you to formulate a set of development activities over the short, medium and long term. Long-term career plans should cover development activities for the next twelve months in the light of their intentions over the next three to possibly five years.

Implementation Implementing your plan does not imply that you cannot or should not change it once implementation is underway. Situations and circumstances can and do change.
Learning diary/journal It is vital that you record your efforts and assess the benefits of your planned activities. The activities that you undertake may not always generate the results that were intended. Time spent reflecting on how you have tackled each activity and in assessing the outcomes will enable you to adjust your plan for the following year. Moreover, by recording your activities you will be building a complete record of their professional/personal development that can form the basis for long-term career progression.
Annual Review/Summary

At the end of the twelve month period, having reviewed your activities you are required to complete a Summary Sheet. The process is repeated for the second and subsequent years by reviewing and updating your SWOT or PESTLE Analysis and then drawing revising your existing plan or creating a new plan.

Embarking on our CPD programme displays your commitment to your ownlearning and continuing development. As well as giving yourself a track to run on, this unequivocally demonstates to your current and future employers your commitment and progression.
